It's my mother's fault...

Everybody has their weird habits.

I unfortunately, have several. My family laughs about them on a regular basis.

One of those is ironing.

I iron pretty much everything except my underwear. Yes, I am one of those people who iron my jeans.

It's no lie that I iron everyday.

This is my mother's fault. Growing up, she always made us iron our clothes. Every school night we had to iron the clothes that we were going to wear the next day. Nightly we ironed and this has stuck with me. I now love to iron.

Even in my college dorm, I had a iron and a full size ironing board. None of those little space saving ironing boards would work for me. Thankfully my college roommate, Jenny, didn't mind hearing the ironing board be pulled out every morning.

I have had the same cheap iron since my freshmen year of college. It has lasted for the last nine years and it has served me well, but after being dropped several times by the hubby, it was looking pretty sad with the handle wrapped up in electrical tape. It was still working, but then a few months ago the black stuff on the actual ironing part (I have no clue what the technical term is) started coming off on our clothes. We needed a new iron. So, I started looking at irons a few months ago and have been trying to decided what I wanted.

Since I have some birthday money, I went all out and I bought a mac daddy iron.
Yes, I did pull it out of the box and plugged it up to try it out as soon as I got home. Seriously, I am in love with this thing. I have threatened the hubby with his life if he drops it. Though the thing is so flipping heavy the hubby might actually loose an appendage if he does drop it.

Look at him at work...Sigh...
Yes I admit it, I'm in love with an iron and yes, it's sad I used birthday money to buy myself an iron. Once again, it's my mother's fault.

Haha, you are too cute. At least you went out and bought something you love that you will use. I secretly want a super duper vaccumm cleaner right now myself. I feel ya on the "it's my moms fault" approach.
