Last night we had a great date night with some friends of ours the O'Prys. Went to the local Mexican restaurant, had great food and some weak margaritas (that is what happens when your cheap and order the house special) and then decided to go to the movies. We had already planned this night a few days back, so we had already decided on Marley & Me.
Like I said...we were warned. My mother warned me (she had already seen it), a coworker had warned Jeremy, and in fact Jeremy tried to prep Kira and I a few times through dinner with the fact that "it's a dog movie, they never end well." Maybe we weren't prepared enough or we just didn't take the advice to heart and the result...we cried our hearts out during the movie.
If you go, be prepared. If you spoil your dogs like we do (and the O'Prys), then be very prepared and bring tissues (we forgot). I honestly can't say that it's the best movie I've ever watched and I honestly don't think I could handle watching it again due to the sadness, but it is reality. In fact, so many parts of the movie were scenes from our life, especially in the beginning, I felt like I watching a movie about us. And when Jennifer Aniston leaned down to kiss Marley in the final goodbye, I lost it, because I kiss buddy like that everyday.
Needless to say, I came home and gave buddy and biscuit a big hug and told them how much a "good dog" they were and just how thankful I was that they found us.
